Probably one of the recent technology’s biggest flop was the release of Jawbone’s UP fitness tracking bracelet which was plagued with problems and endless stories of malfunctions. Now Jawbone has updated the UP to compete in the wrist wars with the new UP24. Jawbone keeps its good looks and now offer for the first time wireless syncing with your smartphone using Bluetooth to keep up to date with the competitors.
The UP will track your sleep and movement along with food tracking (available through the smartphone app) to offer a holistic approach to a healthier lifestyle.
I do like the idea of the fitness trackers but I don’t think it offers something more than the tough competition does. Nike+ Fuelband, Fitbit or the Shine all have the same or even more sensors so the game will be won by design and software features.
Which ever your choice is it sure is a good stocking filler.
